No. Readers do not need a Praxis membership or subscription. They simply purchase your book and pay the Experience Fee (starting at $3.00) to access the full interactive reading experience, including the ebook, audiobook, AI companion, reflection prompts, and other interactive features included with your book.

You set the Book Price. The reader pays your Book Price plus an Experience Fee starting at $3.00 for the full interactive Praxis experience. The fee adjusts upward when needed to reach a supported purchase total, with the same USD total on web and mobile. Praxis receives 20% of the Book Price only. The $3.00 Experience Fee is separate, is paid by the reader, and is not included when calculating the revenue share.

No. Credits and the Experience Fee serve different purposes. Credits are included with your author plan and are used for supported creation features such as text, images, video, and audiobook generation. The $3.00 Experience Fee is paid by the reader when they purchase a paid interactive book. It does not use your credits or reduce your author payout.

Your plan’s book limit is based on the number of active books you have in Praxis. Core supports 1 active book, Scale supports up to 5 active books, and Catalog is designed for authors with 10 or more active books.

Yes. A book counts toward your plan’s active-book allowance whether you sell it or make it available for free. Your plan also includes a set number of complimentary reader copies each month or year (depending on your plan). These allow you to give readers access to your interactive book without charging them the normal Experience Fee. There is no Praxis revenue share on a complimentary $0 copy.
